Purpose

The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to maintain a board of directors that is in compliance with the association bylaws to include facilitating the nomination and appointment of new board members for the annual election of directors at the annual meeting as well as any vacancies that occur during the year.

Committee Commitment and Membership

The Nominating Committee Chairperson is appointed by the Board prior to each Annual Meeting to serve from the close of the meeting until the close of the following Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee shall consist of a Chairperson who shall be a member of the Board and two or more members of the Association that are currently homeowners and have been in residence for at least six (6) months but are not on the Board of Directors.

Meeting Requirements

As noted in the Bylaws, the Nominating Committee will meet prior to the Annual Meeting and in a sufficient time frame to allow for nominations to be submitted and a final ballot to created and mailed to EGHOA homeowners prior to the annual meeting. Additional Committee meetings will be called as deemed necessary to address Board vacancies.

Eligibility Requirements for Nomination to the EGHOA Board of Directors

1. Nominee must be homeowner for a minimum of six (6) months to be eligible for nomination to the Board of Directors.
2. Nominee must be a member in good standing with all HOA dues up to date and no fines or HOA-related action pending.
3. Nominee must submit a signed letter of intent and brief bio to the chair of the Nominating Committee.
4. Nominee must have read and understand the EGHOA complete Governing Documents, including the Rules and Regulations and sign a statement so signifying that this has occurred.
5. Nominee must come to the EGHOA board with no malice to another homeowner that could impact or affect board decisions.
6. Nominee must be interested in and committed to working for the good of the EGHOA community, not for any self-interest.
7. Nominee may not receive any monetary compensation from the EGHOA.
8. Nominee must indicate their willingness to serve on at least one committee.
9. Nominee may not use their position to cause gain to themselves or another party at the Association expense.
